Steel Building Supplies

Steel building supplies are found on almost every construction site on the planet. Everything from nuts and bolts to the tools that are used to install them are made from steel, and often the building itself will be largely constructed of structural steel due to its strength and durability. This stuff lasts a long time and is relatively inexpensive.

Steel building supplies come in a number of different forms and alloys for certain purposes. Galvanized steel does not corrode as quickly as regular steel which makes it great for outdoor parts and paneling. A layer of zinc protects the steel underneath. These can be identified visually by the spangle crystalline pattern on the surface and dull gray color.

Steel building supplies can be found at hardware stores, directly from the manufacturer as well as larger construction supply stores. There are varying levels of quality and applications for each type of steel so it is important to have a qualified salesperson or a little bit of back knowledge which can be found on the internet and library.
